BUCKINGHAMSHIRE COUNCIL

PUBLIC NOTICE UNDER SECTION 121(2) OF THE CHARITIES ACT 2011

Buckinghamshire Council acting as Trustee of Farnham Park Sportsfield Charitable Trust (registered charity number 308164) (the Charity) give notice that the Charity proposes to dispose by way of lease for a minimum of 25 years the property known as: The South Buckinghamshire Golf Course, comprising a 18-hole mature parkland course and clubhouse within 130 acres, and Farnham Park Playing Fields, comprising approximately 80 acres with a number of sports organisation tenants on site, pitches and ancillary facilities and grazing land (the Property).

The Property to be leased is held on designated charitable trust. The Charity is intending to dispose of the Land by lease as there is a significant cost to the Charity in maintaining the Property with funding gaps being met by the Charity's sole Trustee. This is not financially sustainable due to the Trustee's status as a local authority with budget and legal requirements to prioritise statutory services. The Charity is better served by new operating arrangements that ensure future investment in the facilities with increased participation and usage of the Property. The Charity intends for the Property subject to the leasehold disposal to continue to be used in line with its charitable objectives for improvement of physical wellbeing of residents with provision of facilities for physical training and recreation purposes, including outdoor sports.

Any member of the public wishing to make representations on the proposed leasehold disposal is invited do so by close of business 9 December 2024. A plan of the Property can be provided on request. Representations must be made to Trustee of Farnham Park Sportsfield Charitable Trust, Legal Services, Room G52, Buckinghamshire Council, Walton Street Offices, Walton Street, Aylesbury, HP20 1UA by post or by e-mail to: cslreview@buckinghamshire.gov.uk
