What is happening?
NOTICE OF MAKING OF AN ORDER
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM
(PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY NO. 33 ESH PARISH)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP
AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION 2024
The above order, made on 18 October 2024 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will Divert Public Bridleway No. 33 Esh Parish from a point on Bridleway No.34 Esh, north-east of the buildings at Esh Hall, proceeding in a generally southerly then easterly direction to a point on a track south-east of Esh Hall to a line running from a more easterly point on Bridleway No.34, proceeding in a generally south-south-easterly direction to the same point south-east of Esh Hall, as shown on the order map. The above order will also modify the Definitive Map and Statement of the Public Rights of Way for County Durham by deleting and adding the bridleway described.
A copy of the order and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the at Langley Park library during normal opening hours and via the Council website.
Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing addressed to Sharon Renwick, Legal Assistant, County Hall, Durham DH1 5UL or by email to
Highways.orders@durham.gov.uk (ref:7649128) not later than 21 November 2024 Please state the grounds on which they are made.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the County Council of Durham may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
