Choice of School
Children usually attend their catchment school. However, parents may make a written request to place their child in any school under the management of an education authority. Such a request is known as a placing request. The online application form for Renfrewshire schools is available on our website www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/article/3470/Change-schools or by telephoning: 0300 300 0170 for advice if you do not have access to the website.
Information concerning our schools, and the procedures to be followed in making placing requests, is available from every school. This information is also available from Renfrewshire Council, Children's Services, Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley, PA1 1LE, (0300 300 0170), from our website www.renfrewshire.gov.uk, and in our public libraries.
Parents of children due to start school in August 2025, whether or not they wish to make a placing request, should follow the instructions on the registration of children, which will be published in the press, during the week commencing 7 October 2024.
Placing requests for all schools, for session beginning August 2025, should be sent to children's services by 15 March 2025.
