Notice of Confirmation of Public Path Order

Town and Country Planning Act 1990 Section 257 and Paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 Maldon District Council Footpath 30 Heybridge and Footpath 3 Langford

On 28 August 2024 Maldon District Council confirmed the above order

The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert a part length of Footpath 30 Heybridge/Footpath 3 Langford, commencing as Footpath 30 from a point approximately 140 metres north of its junction with Langford Road, Heybridge CM9 4SP, proceeding in a general northward direction across the Heybridge/Langford parish boundary becoming Footpath 3 for a distance of approximately 100 metres, to an alternative footpath commencing from the aforementioned point north of Langford Road, proceeding north westward to the southern side of the new relief road, then north eastward adjacent to the relief road and finally north-westward across the relief road to rejoin the unaffected part of Footpath 3 Langford. The order as confirmed is to also stop up a further part length of Footpath 30 Heybridge commencing from a point at its junction with and on the north side of Langford Road, proceeding north westward adjacent to Langford Road for approximately 293 metres where it heads up the embankment to reconnect with Langford Road south east of the bridge over the old dismantled railway, and create an alternative footpath commencing from a point at the southern edge of the new relief road, proceeding south westward adjacent to the new relief road then across the exit/entrance of the new roundabout to the northern side of Langford Road opposite the unaffected Footpath 13 Heybridge.

Copies can be posted by emailing publicpathorders@essexhighways.org and are available on the Essex Highways website at: www.essexhighways.org/public-path-notices copies have also been sent to Heybridge and Langford Parish Councils.

The order comes into force on the date on which Essex County Council as the Highway Authority certify that the terms of Article 2 of the order have been complied with but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Act, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to that Act.
