ENVIRONMENT AGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT OF INTENTION NOT TO PREPARE AN ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT Regulation 5 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Land Drainage Improvement Works (Amended) Regulations 1999 SI 1999/1783 Powderham Banks

The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the flood defences on the Exe Estuary along Powderham Banks in between NGR SX 96595 85477and NGR SX 96630 85456, a distance of 100 metres.

The proposed improvement works will involve the following: Urgent repair works to a small section of the flood embankment. This will involve minor repairs to the river side revetment, filling of any void space and improvements to the landward side of the embankment. The Environment Agency considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. The Environment Agency does not believe an Environmental Statement is required as an existing Assent is already in place with Natural England to the end of September 2024. The works are also across an extremely small site that will have minimal environmental impact. Nonetheless the project team will adhere to best environmental practice to mitigate and impact.

Further information can be provided on these urgent works via: DCISEnquiries@environment-agency.gov.uk Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 30 days of the date of publication of this notice.
