What is happening?

CHELMSFORD CITY COUNCIL
ADOPTION OF MODEL STREET COLLECTIONS REGULATIONS

Chelmsford City Council hereby gives notice that it intends to adopt the ‘Model Street Collections Regulations’ set out in the ‘Charitable Collections (Transitional Provisions) Order 1974 (SI 1974/140) (Model Street Collections Regulations). A resolution was passed by the Council’s Regulatory Committee on 11 July 2024. 
The adoption will take place with immediate effect upon the statutory requirements of the Act being met including confirmation by the Secretary of State and publication of the adoption. On publication, the Regulations and accompanying policy will be available on the Council’s website at www.Chelmsford.gov.uk. A copy of the Regulations will be furnished free of charge by Chelmsford City Council to any person upon request.
The Council is also in the process of updating its Street Collection Policy. Consultation has been completed and adoption of the policy is likely to be brought to the Committee at a date later this year.
