PUBLIC NOTICE PETROLEUM ACT 1998
KILMAR DECOMMISSIONING PROGRAMMES
Energean UK Limited has submitted, for the consideration of the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, draft combined Decommissioning Programmes for the removal of the Kilmar platform and pipelines in accordance with the provisions of the Petroleum Act 1998. It is a requirement of the Act that interested parties be consulted on such decommissioning proposals.
The Kilmar facilities are covered by the combined Decommissioning Programmes, are across blocks 43/22a, 43/22b, 43/23 and 43/24a, which is 94km offshore to the northeast of the nearest landfall at Flamborough Head off the UK coastline, ~160km north-northeast of the Bacton Gas Terminal in Norfolk. It comprises a small steel platform, a 12" gas export pipeline (PL2162) and a piggybacked 3" service pipeline (PL2163) which run parallel 21.26km to the Trent platform.
