The Cornwall Council (Addition of a Restricted Byway & Bridleways together with the Upgrade of Footpaths to Bridleways at Ventonwyn in the Parishes of St Mewan, St Stephen-in-Brannel & Grampound with Creed) Modifcation Order 2022 & The Cornwall Council (Upgrade of Footpaths to Restricted Byways together with the Addition of a Bridleway at Garlenick in the Parishes of St Stephen-in-Brannel & Grampound with Creed) Modifcation Order 2022 and will attend at:

New Memorial Hall, School Road, Newquay, Cornwall, TR8 5DY

On Tuesday 1 October 2024 at 10.00am

To hold a public local inquiry into the Order

The appointed Inspector will also open the Inquiry as a virtual event on Tuesday 1 October 2024 at 10.00am. Anyone wishing to attend the inquiry virtually must register that interest with the Council as soon as possible prior to the Inquiry, but no later than midday on Friday 27 September 2024, either by email or telephone, details of which are set out in this notice. 

To take part using video, participants will need to have access to Microsoft Teams (via an app or web browser). The link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/ofce/get-started-with-microsoft-teams-b98d533f-118e-4bae-bf44-3df2470c2b12 gives further information on how to use this. Alternatively, you can take part by telephone. Registered participants will receive individual joining instructions, providing details of any requirements, guidance and support, whether joining by Teams or telephone.

The efect of the frst Order, if confrmed without modifcations, will be to modify the defnitive map and statement for the area by:

i) Adding a length of Restricted Byway in the Parish of St Mewan commencing at Unclassifed Road U6 approximately 237 metres south-south-east of ‘Rosewyn’ at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) SW 9654/4979 shown as point ‘A’ on the map attached to the Order then running in a generally north-northwesterly direction for a distance of 234 metres to its junction with Bridleway Number 31 St Mewan and existing Footpath Number 12 St Stephen-in-Brannel to be upgraded to Public Bridleway by this order approximately 20 metres east of ‘Rosewyn at OSGR SW 9647/5001 shown as point ‘B’ on the Order map.

ii) Adding a length of Public Bridleway in the Parish of St Stephen-in-Brannel commencing at its junction with existing Footpath Number 12 St Stephen-in-Brannel to be upgraded to Public Bridleway by this order approximately 142 metres north-north-east of ‘Ventonwyn House’ at OSGR SW 9575/5019 shown as point ‘C’ on the Order map, then running in a generally north easterly and then north-north-westerly direction for a distance of 622 metres terminating at its junction with Unclassifed Road U6102 approximately 697 metres north-north-east of ‘Ventonwyn House’ at OSGR SW 9610/5062 shown as point ‘D’ on the Order map.

iii) Adding a length of Public Bridleway in the Parish of St Stephen-in-Brannel commencing at its junction with existing Footpath Number 12 St Stephen-in-Brannel to be upgraded to Public Bridleway by this order approximately 80 metres north-north-east of ‘Ventonwyn House’ at OSGR SW 9570/5014 shown as point ‘F’ on the Order map, then running in a generally westerly and then west-north-westerly direction for a distance of 107 metres to its junction with existing Footpath Number 12 in the Parish of St Stephen-in-Brannel to be upgraded to Public Bridleway by this order approximately 101 metres north-west of ‘Ventonwyn House’ at OSGR SW 9560/5015 shown as point ‘G’ on the Order map.

iv) Adding a length of Public Bridleway in the Parish of St Stephen-in-Brannel commencing at its junction with existing Footpath Number 12 St Stephen-in-Brannel to be upgraded to Public Bridleway by this order approximately 45 metres south of ‘Harvose Farm’ at OSGR SW 9546/5020 shown as point ‘H’ on the Order map, then running in a generally north-westerly, then northnorth-eastly, and then north-north-westerly direction for a distance of 715 metres terminating at its junction with Unclassifed Road U6102 approximately 567 metres north of ‘Harvose Farm’ at OSGR SW 9546/5082 shown as point ‘I’ on the Order map.

v) Adding a length of Public Bridleway in the Parish of St Stephen-in-Brannel commencing at its junction with Unclassifed Road U6102 approximately 575 metres north of ‘Harvose Farm’ at OSGR SW 9546/5082 shown as point ‘J’ on the Order map, then running in a generally north-north-westerly and then north-north-easterly direction for a distance of 119 metres terminating at its junction with Unclassifed Road U6102 approximately 688 metres north of ‘Harvose Farm’ at OSGR SW 9546/5093 shown as point ‘K’ on the Order map.

vi) Adding a length of Public Bridleway in the Parish of St Stephen-in-Brannel commencing at its junction with existing Footpath Number 12 St Stephen-in-Brannel to be upgraded to Public Bridleway by this order approximately 80 metres north-north-east of ‘Ventonwyn House’ at OSGR SW 9570/5014 shown as point ‘F’ on the Order map, then running in a generally southeasterly and then southerly direction for a distance of 170 metres to its junction with existing Footpath Number 12 in the Parish of St Stephen-in-Brannel to be upgraded to Public Bridleway by this order approximately 89 metres southsouth-east of ‘Ventonwyn House’ at OSGR SW 9568/4998 shown as point ‘L’ on the Order map.

vii) Adding a length of Public Bridleway in the Parish of Grampound with Creed commencing at its junction with Footpath 5 Grampound with Creed to be upgraded to Public Bridleway by this Order approximately 47 metres north of ‘Trewinnow Farm’ at OSGR SW 9557/4962 shown as point ‘N’ on the Order map, then running in a generally southwesterly direction for a distance of 55 metres terminating at its junction with Unclassifed Road U6102 approximately 44 metres west-north-west of ‘Trewinnow Farm’ at OSGR SW 9553/4959 shown as point ‘O’ on the Order map.

viii) Upgrading a length of existing Footpath Number 12 in the Parish of St Stephen-in-Brannel to be upgraded to Public Bridleway commencing at its junction with Bridleway Number 31 St Mewan and a Restricted Byway to be added by this order approximately 20 metres east of ‘Rosewyn’ at OSGR SW 9647/5001 shown as point ‘B’ on the Order map then running in a generally west-north-westerly direction for a distance of 757 metres to its junction with a Public Bridleway to be added by this order at OSGR SW 9575/5019 shown as point ‘C’ on the Order map, then running in a south westerly direction for a distance of 27 metres to its junction with Footpath Number 12 St Stephen-in-Brannel at OSGR SW 9572/5018 shown as point ‘E’ on the Order map, then running in a south-south-westerly direction for a distance of 43 metres to its junction with Public Bridleway to be added by this order approximately 80 metres northnorth-east of ‘Ventonwyn House’ at OSGR SW 9570/5014 shown as point ‘F’ on the Order map.

ix) Upgrading a length of existing Footpath Number 12 in the Parish of St Stephen-in-Brannel to be upgraded to Public Bridleway commencing at its junction with Bridleway to be added by this order approximately 89 metres south-southeast of ‘Ventonwyn House’ at OSGR SW 9568/4998 shown as point ‘L’ on the Order map then running in a generally south-south-westerly direction for a distance of 100 metres to its junction with Footpath Number 5 Grampound with Creed to be upgraded to Public Bridleway by this order approximately 180 metres south of ‘Ventonwyn House’ at OSGR SW 9565/4989 shown as point ‘M’ on the Order map.

x) Upgrading a length of existing Footpath Number 12 in the Parish of St Stephen-in-Brannel to be upgraded to Public Bridleway commencing at its junction with Bridleway to be added by this order approximately 101 metres north-west of ‘Ventonwyn House’ at OSGR SW 9560/5015 shown as point ‘G’ on the Order map then running in an west-northwesterly direction for a distance of 146 metres to its junction with another Public Bridleway to be added by this order approximately 45 metres south of ‘Harvose Farm’ at OSGR SW 9546/5020 shown as point ‘H’ on the Order map.

xi) Upgrading a length of existing Footpath Number 5 in the Parish of Grampound with Creed to be upgraded to Public Bridleway commencing at its junction with Footpath 12 St Stephen-in-Brannel to be upgraded to Public Bridleway by this order approximately 180 metres south of ‘Ventonwyn House’ at OSGR SW 9565/4989 shown as point ‘M’ on the Order map, then running in a generally south-south-westerly direction for a distance of 278 metres to its junction with a Public Bridleway to be added by this order approximately 47 metres north of ‘Trewinnow Farm’ at OSGR SW 9557/4962 shown as point ‘N’ on the Order map.

The efect of the second Order, if confrmed without modifcations, will be to modify the defnitive map and statement for the area by:

i) Upgrading a length of existing Footpath Number 1 in the Parish of St Stephen-in-Brannel to be upgraded to Restricted Byway commencing at its junction with Unclassifed Road U6102 approximately 335 metres north-northeast of ‘Garlenick Manor’ at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) SW 9457/5049 shown as point ‘A’ on the Order Map, then running in a generally south south-westerly and then south-westerly direction for a distance of 213 metres terminating at its junction with existing Footpath Number 9 Grampound with Creed to be upgraded to Restricted Byway by this order, approximately 135 metres north-north-east of ‘Garlenick Manor’ at OSGR SW 9448/5031 shown as point ‘B’ on the Order map.

ii) Upgrading a length of existing Footpath Number 9 in the Parish of Grampound with Creed to be upgraded to Restricted Byway commencing at its junction with existing Footpath Number 1 in the Parish of St Stephen-in-Brannel to be upgraded to Restricted Byway by this order approximately 135 metres north north-east of ‘Garlenick Manor’ at OSGR SW 9448/5031 shown as point ‘B’ on the Order map, then running in a generally south-south-westly, then southerly and then west-north-westerly direction for a distance of 183 metres to its junction with Public Bridleway to be added by this order, approximately 55 metres north-west of ‘Garlenick Manor’ at OSGR SW 9438/5022 shown as point ‘C’ on the Order map.

iii) Upgrading a length of existing Footpath Number 9 in the Parish of Grampound with Creed to be upgraded to Restricted Byway commencing at its junction with a Public Bridleway to be added by this order approximately 61 metres south-west of ‘Garlenick Manor’ at OSGR SW 9436/5016 shown as point ‘D’ on the Order map, then running I n a generally south-southwesterly and then south-south-easterly direction for a distance of 578 metres terminating at its junction with Unclassifed Road U6102, approximately 574 metres south of ‘Garlenick Manor’ at OSGR SW 9445/4961 shown as point ‘E’ on the Order map.

iv) Adding a length of Public Bridleway in the Parish of Grampound with Creed commencing at its junction with existing Footpath Number 9 Grampound with Creed to be upgraded to Restricted Byway by this order approximately 55 metres north-west of ‘Garlenick Manor’ at OSGR SW 9438/5022 shown as point ‘C’ on the map to the Order then running in a generally south-southwesterly direction for a distance of 60 metres to its junction with existing Footpath 9 Grampound with Creed to be upgraded to Restricted Byway by this order, approximately 61 metres south-west of ‘Garlenick Manor’ at OSGR SW 9436/5016 shown as point ‘D ’ on the Order map.
