What is happening?
NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 WORCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
DIVERSION OF FOOTPATH WN-660 (PART) (FORMERLY FOOTPATH No 18) IN THE PARISH OF WARNDON PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2023
On 24th of June 2024, Worcestershire County Council confirmed the above order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, and Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The effect of the order, as confirmed, is to divert the footpath and modify the definitive map and statement for Worcestershire, accordingly.
From: a line running from: Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) SO 8737 5523 the footpath proceeds in a SE direction for 129 metres (m) to OSGR SO 8748 5516. As shown on the order plan. To: a line running from OSGR SO 8737 5523 the footpath proceeds in a SSW direction along new footway for 6 m to OSGR SO 8737 5523 where it turns to follow the footway in an ESE direction for 67 m to OSGR SO 8743 5521. The path then follows the footway in a SSW direction for 28 m to OSGR SO 8743 5518 and then ESE along path for 39 m to a gap in the fence line to terminate at the highway limit at OSGR SO 8746 5517, as shown on the order plan. The order comes into force as from 24th of June 2024, but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity , or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act, has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 21st of August 2024, make an application to the High Court.
