What is happening?

APPLICATION FOR RIVER TEES TURNING CIRCLE - ESTUARY EDGES PROJECT
Notice is hereby given that Tees Rivers Trust, The Clock Tower, South Park, DL1 5TD, has applied to the Marine Management Organisation under the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009, Part 4, for a marine licence to undertake construction of a vegetated intertidal terrace.
A vegetated intertidal terrace is a ledge(s) formed parallel with the existing bank and is then backfilled with material. The length of the proposed works are circa 300 metres (m) with the width being 10 - 30m.
The ledge will be constructed using filled rock-rolls that are placed parallel with the edge of the bank / water’s edge. The ledges will form a mound that will encourage the disposition of material behind and help to create / extend areas of mudflat / saltmarsh over time.

In all cases, correspondence must:
- Be received within 28 days of 15th August 2024;
- Quote the case reference; and
- include an address to which correspondence relating to the representation or objection may be sent.
The Marine Management Organisation will pass to the applicant a copy of any objection or representation we receive.
