Draft East London Joint Waste Plan - Notice of Engagement

The London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Newham and Redbridge are updating the adopted East London Joint Waste Plan (2012). The updated Plan will set out how waste should be managed in East London until 2041.

The draft East London Joint Waste Plan provides the strategic vision, objectives and policies for the sustainable management of waste in East London. The plan will help to make sure that there continues to be sufficient capacity to manage waste in East London and that waste facilities are located in the right areas to prevent significant adverse impacts on local communities and the natural environment. The Plan also contains policies on how developers should consider the management of waste during demolition and construction of buildings, and when a development is occupied. The new Joint Waste Plan will cover the period to 2041.

Comments can be submitted between Monday 29th July 2024 and 11:59pm on Monday 16th September 2024.
