NOTICE OF INTENTION TO APPLY FOR MINISTERIAL CONSENT FOR THE INITIATION OF COMPULSORY PURCHASE POWERS
1. Notice is hereby given pursuant to section 6(1)(b) of the Green Belt (London and Home Counties) Act 1938 that National Grid Electricity Transmission pic (NGET) is intending to apply to the Secretary of State for Levelling-Up, Housing and Communities for consent to initiate the process to compulsorily acquire the following land pursuant to section 10 and Schedule 3 of the Electricity Act 1989 for the purposes of the Uxbridge Moor Connection Project:
Land on the south side of Denham Road at Denham Quarry and Mansfield Farm and abutting Iver Substation.
2. The Uxbridge Moor Connection Project (the Project) comprises the erection of 132kV and 400kV GIS substations (including six super grid transformers, gantries, office block, contractor compound, diesel generator, internal access roads, parking, drainage, lighting and cctv, permanent access road, bridge crossing, landscaping and biodiversity enhancement, and fencing) and ancillary works comprising the construction of short sections of new 400kV overhead lines (OHL) and associated equipment including pylons, the laying of new underground cables and temporary construction-phase OHL diversions and the removal of an existing third party 132kV OHL.
3. Copies of a plan indicating the boundaries of the land the subject of this notice can be inspected at Iver Heath Community Library, St Margaret's Close, Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire SL0 0DA between the hours of 9.30am to 1 pm or 2pm to 5pm on Tuesday and Thursday or 10 am to 1pm on Saturday. 4. Any objection to the initiation of the compulsory purchase process described above should be sent in writing to the Secretary of State for Levelling-Up, Housing and Communities care of the Planning Casework Unit, 23 Stephenson Street, Birmingham B2 4BH before 28 June 2024 and should state the reasons for such objection.
5. It should be noted that the consent to which this notice relates would not authorise the Project nor the compulsory purchase of the above land for the Project and all relevant processes in this regard must still be followed.
