DEFINITIVE MAP REVIEW OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY
PARISH OF PETROCKSTOWE
INFORMAL CONSULTATION SCHEDULE
The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 requires the County Council to keep the Defnitive Map of public rights of way under continuous review, and to make modifcations where it appears that routes should be added, re-graded or deleted. Devon County Council has received a Schedule 14 application for several routes in the parish of Petrockstowe set out below, and your views and any relevant evidence are sought on the proposal for modifying the Defnitive Map for Petrockstowe. Proposal 1: Schedule 14 application: Part A – Claimed addition of a byway open to all trafc along New Road, Grid ref: SS 5123 0956 – 5206 0797; and Part B – Claimed addition of a bridleway along American Lane, Grid ref: SS 5209 0868 – 5306 0920.
The Defnitive Map is the legal record of public rights of way. There are four categories: Footpath, Bridleway, Restricted byway, and Byway open to all trafc. Maps showing the existing public rights of way, and the above proposal to modify the Defnitive Map, are available for inspection by appointment at:- Petrockstowe Parish Council – petroc.clerk@hotmail.com; Torridge District Council, Riverbank House, Bideford, EX39 2QG; Public Rights of Way Service, Great Moor House, Bittern Road Sowton, Exeter, EX2 7NL.
