NOTICE OF CONFIRMED ORDER TO EXEMPT LAND FROM ACCESS RIGHTS
In compliance with Section 11(2)(b) of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 (the “Act”), South Ayrshire Council gives notice that THE SOUTH AYRSHIRE COUNCIL (ROYAL TROON GOLF COURSE 152nd OPEN) EXEMPTING LAND FROM ACCESS RIGHTS (No.
1, No. 2 and South Beach car park) ORDERS 2024 (the “Orders”), under Section 11(1) of the Act have been confirmed by Scottish Ministers on 14.03.24.
Order No.1, Order No.2 and the South Beach car park Order will exempt areas of land comprising Royal Troon Golf Course, including the Wrack Road (Smugglers Trail/ core path SA6/ public right of way SCK28), a section of core path SA2 and the South Beach car park, which are outlined on plans annexed to the Orders, from the access rights which would otherwise be exercisable in respect of that land by virtue of Part 1 of the Act:
The Orders are to enable the 152nd Open to be held at the Royal Troon Golf Course in 2024, with the land being proposed specifically for temporary exemption from access rights in the interests of the safety and security of participating players and the safety of staff and the public, during the setup, dismantling and staging of the event.
For the periods during which the relevant exemption order is in force, alternative routes for the core paths/ right of way will be available. The diversions, when available, are indicated on the plans annexed to the proposed orders.
The confirmed Orders will be effective during the periods from:
25th March 2024 until 6th September 2024, inclusive.
25th May 2024 until 6th September 2024, inclusive.
29th April 2024 until 30th August 2024, inclusive.
