Notice of application for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of an inland water using impounding works
Affinity Water Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to remove the existing impoundment on the River Gade at Water End Road Bridge South, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, at National Grid Reference TL 04028 10319.
The failed weir at this location would be removed and replaced with RipRap or rock armour for scour protection and the upstream reach will be developed to naturalise the river channel.
