Cornwall Council in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government
(Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 HEREBY GIVES NOTICE of its intention
to introduce the following Hackney Carriage fare scale throughout the Carrick
Hackney Carriage Taxi Zone with effect from 1 April 2024

7am to 11pm

The above represents the maximum fares payable

For the purposes of calculating the fare (not seating capacity), children not more than 3 years of age shall not be regarded as fare-calculating persons, any 2 children more than 3 years of age and under 12 shall be regarded as 1 fare-calculating person. Please note this is in relation to the calculation of fares only and all persons (of any age) count in relation to seating capacity of vehicle.

Hackney Carriage proprietors will be permitted to increase the above fares by 50% on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and from 6pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve if they so wish and increase the fares from the 7am to 11pm rate to the 11pm to 7am rate on Bank Holidays and Easter Sunday if they so wish.

Charges must only be calculated from the point at which the hirer enters the vehicle. Charges include VAT where applicable.

A copy of this notice is available for inspection during normal office hours at the
Council Offices in Truro and Bodmin for the next 14 days.
Any objection to the introduction of the above fares should be received by the
undersigned by no later than 21 March 2024.
