STATUTORY NOTICE FOR CLOSURE
Closure of Christ Church, Church of England, Primary School, Batten Road, SW11 2TH
Notice is given in accordance with section 15 of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 (as amended by the Education Act 2011) and the School Organisation (Establishment and Discontinuance of Schools) Regulations 2013 that the Governing body of Christ Church, Church of England, Primary School, Batten Road, SW11 2TH in consultation with the London Borough of Wandsworth and the Southwark Diocesan Board of Education has published proposals to discontinue Christ Church Primary School with effect from 1st September 2024.
Should the decision to close Christ Church Primary School be taken, all children attending Christ Church Primary School would be offered places at alternative schools for September 2024 through a separate dedicated admissions round. This will be in line with parental preferences, offering an alternative local school if this is not possible. The School, as at December 2023, has 76 statutory aged children on roll (Reception -Year 5).
The Governors of Christ Church Primary School are publishing the proposals. Wandsworth Council will decide whether to implement the proposals and close Christ Church, Church of England, Primary School. The proposal is not related to any other school organisation proposals that have been or are about to be published.
This notice is an extract of the complete proposal. A copy of the complete proposal can be viewed on the school website at https://www.christchurch.wandsworth.sch.uk/ and a paper copy can be requested via email to: consult@christchurch.wandsworth.sch.uk
