COUNCIL TAX 2024/25
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Bolton has, by resolution passed on the 14th day of February 2024, made and approved a Council Tax in respect of the period commencing on the 1st day of April 2024, and terminating on the 31st day of March 2025, as follows:

COUNCIL TAX - EMPTY PROPERTIES
This is a statutory notice that the Council has made a determination under sections 11A and 11B of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 (as amended) that, with effect from 1 April 2024, the following locally set changes to council tax will apply:

Class C |
A dwelling which is unoccupied and unfurnished |
A full council tax charge is payable for up to 1 year. After 1 year, a 100% premium will be applied. After 5 years, the premium increases to 200%. After 10 years, the premium increases to 300%. |
Reference to this class is prescribed by the Council Tax (Prescribed Classes of Dwellings) (England) Regulations 2003 (as amended).
COUNCIL TAX - EMPTY PROPERTIES
This is a statutory notice that the Council has made a determination under sections 11A and 11C of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 (as amended) that, with effect from 1 April 2025, the following locally set changes to council tax will apply:
Classification of dwelling |
Description of class |
Amount of council tax payable from 1 April 2025 |
Class B |
A dwelling which is unoccupied and furnished |
A premium of 100% will be applied. |
Reference to this class is prescribed by the Council Tax (Prescribed Classes of Dwellings) (England) Regulations 2003 (as amended).
