NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER
SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
The Definitive Map and Statement for the Former Restormel Borough Area
THE CORNWALL COUNCIL (ADDITION OF A FOOTPATH AT CHARLESTOWN, IN
THE PARISH OF ST AUSTELL BAY) MODIFICATION ORDER 2023
On 6th February 2024, Cornwall Council confirmed the above order made under
section 53[(2)(b)] of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
The effect of the order as confirmed is to modify the definitive map and statement for
the area by:
Adding a length of Public Footpath in the Parish of Charlestown commencing at
Classified Road C707 ‘Charlestown Road’ approximately 12 metres south-south-west
of the Rashleigh Arms’ at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) SX 0377/5177
then running in a generally east-north-easterly direction for a distance of 79 metres
to its junction with existing Footpath Number 26 in the Parish of St Austell Bay
(Formerly FP St Austell UDC 102) at OSGR SX 0385/5180 then continuing in a southsouth-
easterly then south-south-westerly direction for a distance of 103 metres
terminating at its junction with existing Footpath Number 23 St Austell Bay (Formerly
FP St Austell UDC 36) approximately 28 metres north-west of ‘17 Quay Road’ at
OSGR SX 0388/5170 .

PL25 4LD Monday to Friday 9.00 am-5.00 pm and Saturday 10.00am-1.00pm.
Copies of the Order & Map may be bought there, at the price of £5.00. A copy may
also be viewed at New County Hall, Treyew Road, Truro, TR1 3AY Monday to Friday
8.45am-5pm (Bank Holidays excepted). Copies of the order and map may also be
requested by email from DMMOOrders@cornwall.gov.uk or by telephoning 0300
1234 202.
The order comes into force on the day that it is confirmed but if any person aggrieved
by the order wants to question its validity on the ground that it is not within the
powers of Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the ground
that any requirement of Schedule 15 of the Act has not been complied with in
relation to the Order, he or she may under paragraph 12 (1) of Schedule 15 to the Act
within six weeks from 14th February 2024 , make application to the High Court.
