Priorslee, Telford - New School

Public Consultation Announcement Application to establish a new school in Priorslee, Telford, to be known as Thomas Telford Primary Free School. We wish to advise that the Trustees of Thomas Telford Multi Academy Trust intend to apply to the Secretary of State to establish a Primary Free School in Telford. It will be a two-form entry Primary School with a nursery which will cater for the age range 3 to 11 years. The School will have an enrolment of 420 children alongside a nursery with 26 registered places. The School will be part of the Multi Academy Trust established by Thomas Telford School, which currently includes the following Academies: Redhill Primary, Madeley, Sandwell, Walsall, and Thomas Telford UTC. If the application is successful, it is proposed that the opening date will be September 2025. Pupil numbers are growing rapidly in the Priorslee area and there is a need to provide additional school places. Free Schools are one of the options available from the Government and they are similar in Governance to existing Academies where Local Governing Boards and Headteachers make key decisions. We are particularly interested in hearing from parents of potential applicants to ascertain the level of prospective interest.
