PUBLIC NOTICE

Featherstone Wood Primary School Proposal to change the category of Featherstone Wood from a Community School to a Foundation School

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(3) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that the governing body of Featherstone Wood Primary School intends to make a prescribed alteration to convert the status of Featherstone Wood Primary School, Featherston Road, Stevenage, Herts SG2 9PP from a Community to a Foundation School, with effect from March 2024. If the proposal is implemented it will make the category of the school the same as the category of Peartree Spring Primary School, Hydean Way, Stevenage, Herts SG2 9GG, a Foundation school.

If enacted, the proposal would be implemented in full in March 2024. Having a school category in common would allow both schools within the Federation to have the same legal responsibilities and it is felt that it would be strategically beneficial for the two schools to be aligned in terms of their category. Anyone can provide comments or objections but you need to ensure that they are received by Featherstone Wood Primary School by 31st December 2023 by sending them by post to The Headteacher, Featherstone Wood Primary School, Featherston Road, Stevenage, Herts SG2 9PP, or alternatively by email to: head@featherstonewood.herts.sch.uk Signed: Jason Brown - Chair of Governors of Featherstone Wood Primary School
