What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF CALDERDALE

(CAR PARKS) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2019 (VARIATION NO. X) ORDER 20XX

NOTICE is hereby given that the Borough Council of Calderdale (‘the Council’) in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 proposes to make the above Order, the effect of which will be to:

1. Introduce pay and display charges in the following car parks:- Burnley Road (Mytholmroyd), Dale Street, Dalton Street, Oxford Street (Todmorden), and Royd Lane (Ripponden). The car parks will have charges of: up to 1 hour Free, up to 2 hours 40p, up to 3 hours 80p, up to 4 hours £1.20, up to 5 hours £1.60, over 5 hours £2.00, and will be in operation between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm Monday-Saturday.

2. Designate Bridge Lanes car park (Hebden Bridge) and Towngate Car Park (Northowram) as car parks, for use at all times on all days, with a maximum stay period of 71  hours.

3. Introduce at Wakefield Road Car Park (Hipperholme) a 4 hour maximum stay, no return within 2 hours. Amend the tariff to: up to 30 minutes 30p, up to 1 hour 60p, up to 2 hours £1.20, up to 3 hours £1.80, and up to 4 hours £2.40.

4. Designate formal public parking at Crown Street Car Park (Elland), with the introduction of pay and display charges of: up to 1 hour 40p, up to 2 hours 80p, up to 3 hours £1.20, up to 4 hours £1.60, up to 5 hours £2.00, over 5 hours £2.40 and will be in operation between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm Monday-Saturday.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of the orders, including the statement of reasons and plans showing the affected roads, are available for inspection at Halifax Central Library, Halifax, HX1 1QG, from 10.00 am to 5.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays and 10.00 am to 4.00 pm on Saturdays. Alternatively copies of the documents can be viewed on the Council’s website at: www.calderdale.gov.uk/tro If you wish to object to or make a representation to any part of the proposed orders, you must send the grounds for your objection or support in writing to reach the Council by not later than 4th January 2024 to either proposedtro@ calderdale.gov.uk or Highways and Transportation,  C/O The Town Hall, Crossley Street, Halifax, HX1 1UJ, FAO: Parking Services.

All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
