LAND REFORM (SCOTLAND) ACT 2003
NOTICE OF PROPOSED ORDER TO EXEMPT LAND FROM ACCESS RIGHTS
In compliance with Section 11(2)(b) of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 (the “Act”), South Ayrshire Council gives notice it proposes to make THE SOUTH AYRSHIRE COUNCIL (ROYAL TROON GOLF COURSE 152nd OPEN – South Beach car park) EXEMPTING LAND FROM ACCESS RIGHTS ORDER 2024 (the “Order”), under Section 11(1) of the Act.
The Order will exempt areas of land comprising South Beach car park, adjacent to Royal Troon Golf Course, which will be outlined on plan annexed to the Order, from the access rights which would otherwise be exercisable in respect of that land by virtue of Part 1 of the Act:
The Order is proposed to enable the 152nd Open to be held at the Royal Troon Golf Course in 2024, with the land being proposed specifically for temporary exemption from access rights in the interests of the safety and security of staff and the public, during the setup, dismantling and staging of the event.
For the periods during which the relevant exemption order is in force, the footpath/ cycle path adjacent to the car park will remain open, except for the core period of the event (24.06.24 – 29.07.24) when the path will be closed, and diversions will be in place.
The proposed Order will be effective during the periods from:
29th April 2024 (or the date on which it is confirmed by the Scottish Ministers, if later) until 30th August 2024, inclusive.
Further details on the proposed Order and annexed plans may be viewed on the Council’s website (at https://www.south-ayrshire.gov.uk/article/28445/ Public-notices-and-closures) and on notices posted on site at South Beach car park.
