What is happening?

ENROLMENT IN NURSERY, PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS FOR ACADEMIC SESSION 2024/25
Nursery Applications
All three and four-years olds are eligible for funded hours of Early Learning and Childcare.
Parents/carers of children who reach the age of 3 on or before 28 February 2025 can apply for a funded place in a Fife Council nursery, or in a private nursery, playgroup or childminder working in partnership with Fife Council.
Those wishing to make an application to a Fife Council nursery can apply online at www.fife.gov.uk/ earlyyears from 4 January 2024 and should do so before 31 January 2024. This is an easy process that can be done from your smart phone, tablet or laptop.
To apply online you’ll be asked to create a mygov. scot ‘myaccount’ if you do not already have one.
Nursery places are allocated in line with Fife Council’s Early Years Admissions Policy. Applications should be made for children due to start nursery at any point in the following academic session – August 2024, January 2025 or April 2025.
Detailed information on the models of ELC available from all Fife Council nurseries is available at www.fife.gov.uk/earlyyears or speak with your local primary or nursery Headteacher.
You will be notified in writing by April 2024 of the outcome of your application.
Primary School Enrolment
Applications for primary aged pupils due to start Primary One in August 2024 should be completed online, from 8 January 2024 at https://www.fife.gov. uk/applyforaschoolplace. Parents/carers can use this form to also apply for a placing request at a non-catchment primary school.
You’ll be asked to create a mygov.scot ‘myaccount’ if you don’t already have one.
The deadline for applications is 15 March 2024. You will be notified in writing by 30 April 2024 of the outcome of any placing request application.
Secondary School Enrolment
Parents/carers of a child due to start secondary school in August 2024 will be enrolled in their catchment secondary school automatically. Parent who wish to submit a placing request must apply online from 11 December 2023 - 15 March 2024 at https://www.fife.gov.uk/applyforaschoolplace. You’ll be asked to create a mygov.scot ‘myaccount’ if you don’t already have one.
The deadline for applications is 15 March 2024. You will be notified in writing by 30 April 2024 of the outcome of any placing request application.
