Please remember

If you do not pay your Council Tax by the due dates, the Council will issue a reminder notice. A maximum of only two reminders will be issued in any one year. If you miss payments or pay late twice within the year, then the next notice you receive will be a summons notice, incurring costs. It is just not worth the risk, so if you have a bank account, think about Direct Debit for your Council Tax and business rates. Each month Braintree District Council must pay over £6million to the County Council which means that if payments are late the Council must borrow to make up the difference, so adding to the cost of collecting the tax. This eventually affects the amount that everyone has to pay. If you are struggling to pay remember we are here to help you. Please contact us if you cannot pay your Council Tax. Do not wait until you are in debt as this makes it more difficult to sort the problem out. For more details call
