What is happening?

NOTICE UNDER SECTION 27 OF THE TRUSTEE ACT 1925

The Marling Industrial Felts Limited Pension and Life Assurance Scheme (the “Scheme”)

Notice is hereby given pursuant to section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925 (as amended) that the Scheme commenced winding up on 12 June 2026 and the Trustees of the Scheme are taking action to secure members’ benefits by way of the purchase of individual annuities with an insurance company.

The Trustees have taken all reasonable steps to contact the members and beneficiaries of the Scheme for whom they have records. An announcement has been sent to those members and beneficiaries and their benefits under the Scheme have been identified. If you have already received a communication from the Trustees regarding this matter, then you do not need to take any action as the Trustees already have details of your claim and entitlements. However, the following persons should write to the Trustees at the address given below, within two months of the date of the publication of this advertisement:

    • Any employee or former employee of Marlings Limited, previously Marling Industrial Felts Limited and Marling Floor Coverings Limited, who believes that they were a member of the Scheme and who is not already receiving a pension in respect of his/her membership of the Scheme;

    • Any person who believes themselves to be a beneficiary of the Scheme such as a widow, widower or dependant of a deceased member of the Scheme; and

  • Any other person who believes they have a claim against, or an interest in, the Scheme.

Claimants should provide their full name, address, date of birth, National Insurance number and details of when they were members of the Scheme, as well as any particulars of claim and copies of any documentation that supports their claim.

After 2 months of the date of the publication of this advertisement, the Trustees may proceed to distribute the Scheme’s assets among the persons entitled to them having regard only to the valid claims of which written notice shall have been received by the Trustees and the interest of those members of the Scheme of whom they have knowledge.

The Trustees shall not be liable in respect of any other claim, demand, entitlement or interest relating to any other person.
