Notice Under Section 27 Of The Trustee Act 1925 The Npower Group Of The Electricity Supply Pension Scheme
Notice is hereby given pursuant to section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925 that the Group Trustees of the Npower Group (the "Npower Group") of the Electricity Supply Pension Scheme (the "ESPS") intends to commence the winding up the Npower Group.
The Npower Group is part of the ESPS. The ESPS is a sector-wide pension scheme established in 1983. Following the privatisation of the electricity industry in 1990, the ESPS was split up into a number of different groups corresponding to the then newly created Regional Electricity Companies and Generators. The Npower Group is one of those groups. The assets and liabilities in respect of the Npower Group's members and beneficiaries have been transferred to the E.ON UK Group of the ESPS with effect from 31 March 2024. The Group Trustees have, as part of that process, written to all members and beneficiaries to inform them that following the transfer the Npower Group will be wound up.
If you have not recently been contacted but believe you have an entitlement to any benefit from, or interest in, the Npower Group, by reason of your own, a relative's or any other person's full or part time employment with any current or previous employer participating in the Npower Group, you are required to send particulars in writing before the expiry of two months from the date on which this notice has first been published (the "Notice Period") of your entitlement or interest (together with your full name, present address, date of birth and copies of all documents which support your claim) to the Pensions Manager, E.ON UK Pic, Westwood Way, Westwood Business Park, Coventry, CV4 8LG. After the expiry of the Notice Period (as defined above), the Npower Group will be wound up in accordance with the rules of the ESPS. Benefits will only be provided to those persons whose valid claims and entitlements the Group Trustees have received notice of before the expiry of the Notice Period and they will not be liable to or in respect of any other person. Any individuals who have already been contacted by the Group Trustees about their benefits under the Npower Group (as stated above) should not respond to this notice, as the Group Trustees will already have details of their claims and entitlements (if any). Similarly, you should not respond to this notice if you were formerly a member or beneficiary of the Npower Group and have been notified that your benefits have been transferred to the E.ON UK Group of the ESPS (as stated above) or they have been transferred under a previous transfer to the RWE Group of the ESPS.
