What is happening?

Wessex Water Pension Scheme
Notice under section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925

Please note that this notice relates to the Defined Contribution Section of the Wessex Water Pension Scheme (the “Scheme”) only.

Wessex Water Pension Scheme Trustee Limited (the “Trustee”) intends to finalise the winding up of the Defined Contribution Section of the Scheme. Notice is hereby given pursuant to section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925 of the intention to wind up the Defined Contribution Section of the Scheme and distribute its assets.

The Trustee of the Scheme believes they have the names of everyone who had a right to benefits under the Defined Contribution Section of the Scheme. However, if you were
(i) an employee of Wessex Water Services Limited, Wessex Water Limited, Bristol Wessex Billing Services Limited, Wessex Water Enterprises Limited, Water 2 Business Limited or Turnbull Infrastructure & Utilities Limited and

(ii) a member of the Defined Contribution Section of the Scheme, and think you have entitlement to defined contribution benefits, or you are a widow, widower, civil partner, child, dependant or other beneficiary of such an employee and, in either case, you have not already been contacted by the Trustee in relation to this or in relation to the transfer of your pension rights, please write to:
FAO: Trustee of the Wessex Water Pension Scheme, Wessex Water Operations Centre, Claverton Down Road, Claverton Down, Bath, BA2 7WW

Claimants should provide their full name, address, date of birth, National Insurance number and either details of when they were members of the Scheme or details of the basis of their claim.

Your claim must arrive on or before 2 months after the publication of this notice. Late claims may not be accepted.

As soon as possible after the expiry of this notice on 2 months after publication of this notice, it is the intention of the Trustee to complete the winding up of the Defined Contribution Section of the Scheme, having regard only to the claims and interests of which they have prior notice.

After that time, the Trustee shall not be liable to any other person with defined contribution benefits.

If you have recently been contacted in respect of the transfer of your pension rights out of the Defined Contribution Section of the Scheme, then you do not need to write to the Trustee as they already have your details.

For the avoidance of doubt, the Defined Benefit Section of the Scheme will continue to be administered by the Trustee, notwithstanding the winding-up of the Defined Contribution Section. If you are or were a member of the Defined Benefit Section of Scheme you do not need to write to the Trustee - your benefits under the Defined Benefit Section of the Scheme are not affected by this notice.

Issued for and on behalf of the Trustee of the Wessex Water Pension Scheme.
