DESCRIPTION OF THE LAND AND NEW RIGHTS
Land and rights for the purpose of uprating the existing 275kV overhead electric line to 400kV between Chesterfield and High Marnham in the East Midlands region, constructing two new 400kV substations at Chesterfield and High Marnham, carrying out overhead line tie in works at the Chesterfield and High Marnham substations and removing associated redundant infrastructure and overhead lines.
The land to be acquired comprises industrial premises, agricultural land, public right of way, a private track, unnamed tracks, verge, hedgerows, trees, woodland, shrubbery, pylons and overhead lines lying at and to the south of Chesterfield Substation, Calow Lane, Calow, North East Derbyshire, and at and around High Marnham Substation, Fledborough Road, High Marnham, Bassetlaw. The land includes the mines and minerals where so described in the Schedule to the Order. Any interests excluded as identified in the Order and the Schedule are not to be acquired.
The rights are described in more detail in the Order and Schedule and labelled as follows: "Access Rights", "Construction Compound Rights", "Drainage Rights", "Overhead Line Rights" and "Utilities Works Rights". These rights are sought in respect of the following land: a corridor of land, generally 50 metres in width, running from the existing Chesterfield Substation, south of Calow Lane, Calow, to High Marnham Substation, Fledborough Road, High Marnham. From Calow the line of route proceeds in a roughly south easterly direction, crossing the A617 and Hassocky Lane (B6425), through Temple Normanton and Sutton cum Duckmanton, and then crosses the M1 at Heath and Holmewood. The line of route continues in a generally south easterly direction through Scarcliffe, crossing the River Doe Lea, past Glapwell and through Pleasley and Shirebrook, crossing the Robin Hood Line, before reaching Warsop, where it crosses the River Meden, Sookholme Road (B6407) and Mansfield Road (B6417). From there the line of route proceeds in a generally easterly direction through Kings Clipstone, crossing the High Marnham Branch Line and the River Maun, and through Edwinstowe, crossing Clipstone Road (B6030), Edwinstowe Road (B6034) and Old Rufford Road (A614), before passing north of Rufford Lake through Ollerton and Boughton, Rufford and Wellow. It then reaches Ompton and Kneesall, crossing Newark Road (A616), and continues through Laxton and Moorhouse to Weston, crossing the A1, Great North Road (B1164) and the East Coast Main Line. At this point the line of route continues in a roughly easterly direction through Normanton on Trent and Marnham, before reaching High Marnham Substation and terminating west of the River Trent at Marnham and Fledborough. The new rights include where so described in the Schedule, rights to prevent, interfere with or restrict the working of mines and minerals. Any interests excluded as identified in the Order and the Schedule are not affected by the rights.
