WIRRAL COUNCIL - CONSULTATION ON SCHOOL ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS 2028/29
Admission authorities must consult whenever they want to make changes to their policies or every seven years if there are no proposed changes. Wirral Council is the Admission Authority for community and voluntary controlled schools. For other schools including academies, free schools, foundation and voluntary aided schools, the governing body or academy trust is the admission authority.
Wirral also has a co-ordinated admissions scheme which contains the arrangements for applying for transfers and new starters to schools in Wirral. This applies to all state funded schools in Wirral.
Wirral Council is consulting on the admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools and the co-ordinated scheme for all schools which will apply from 2028/29 onwards. The proposed admission arrangements are published on the Wirral Council website at www.wirral.gov.uk/schooladmissions.
If you would like to make any comments on the Wirral Council consultation, please send them to schoolconsultation@wirral.gov.uk. The consultation closes on 2nd December 2026.
For other schools, proposed admission policies can be obtained from the school and comments should be sent directly to the school.
