Old Basing and Lychpit Parish Council as the qualifying body has prepared a neighbourhood development plan, entitled the Old Basing and Lychpit Neighbourhood Development Plan Review 2024-2042, for their parish with the help of the local community. The neighbourhood plan sets out a vision for the future of the parish and planning policies which will be used to determine planning applications locally.
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is satisfied that the submitted Old Basing and Lychpit Neighbourhood Plan Review complies with the relevant legal requirements and can therefore proceed to formal consultation and independent examination.
In accordance with the Regulations, the Borough Council is required to publicise the Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents and invite comments.
Copies of the Old Basing and Lychpit Neighbourhood Plan Review, Modification Statement, Consultation Statement, Basic Conditions Statement, and supporting evidence base are available to view on the borough council’s website: https://www.basingstoke.gov.uk/OBNP.

The period for submission of representations will run from Friday 25 September through to 5pm on Friday 6 November 2026. All representations received will be available to view publicly.

Please note that all representations received will be forwarded onto the Independent Examiner. Respondents will be notified of the Local Planning Authority’s decision under Regulation 19 in relation to whether or not the plan will be adopted by the Local Planning Authority if they have given their consent to be informed.
