NOTICE OF PUBLIC CONSULTATION (REGULATION 19)
On the Proposed Submission Draft of THE WALSALL BOROUGH LOCAL PLAN
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council has prepared a Proposed Submission Draft of the Walsall Borough Local Plan for public consultation under Regulation 19 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012. The Walsall Borough Local Plan sets out the spatial strategy, development allocations and planning policies for future development across the administrative area of Walsall for the period up to 2042.
PERIOD OF CONSULTATION – the consultation period for the Proposed Submission Walsall Borough Local Plan is for a period of six weeks from Monday 21 September 2026 until 5pm on Monday 2 November 2026.
Please note: Representations received after the closing time and date specified above will not be considered or forwarded to the Planning Inspectorate.
INSPECTION OF DOCUMENTS: The Proposed Submission Walsall Borough Local Plan (Regulation 19) and supporting documents are available to view:
1. Online via the Council’s local plan consultation webpage CommonPlace -

2. At Walsall Connected Centres (online) and Libraries (paper) during opening hours. Staff will be on hand to assist.
HOW TO MAKE A REPRESENTATION:
Representations must focus on whether the Proposed Submission Local Plan is legally compliant and meets the test of soundness as outlined in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF). You can submit your comments:

Walsall Connected Centres and libraries have physical copies of the leaflet and questionnaire available during opening hours, and you can use the computers to access the online consultation.

requesting material to be made available in alternative formats – large print, translated version, and Braille.
All representations must be received no later than 5pm on Monday 2 November 2026.
REQUESTS FOR FUTURE NOTIFICATION:
Using the response form, you may request to be kept informed of the subsequent stages of the Local Plan process. Specifically, you may request to be notified when:
1. The Local Plan has been submitted to the Secretary of State for Independent examination.
2. The recommendations of the independent Planning Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State are published.
3. The Local Plan is formally adopted by the Council.
DATA PROTECTION NOTICE:
All representations will be made available for public inspection and will be forwarded alongside the Local Plan to the Planning Inspectorate for independent public examination. Personal data (such as signatures and contact details will be processed in accordance with the Council’s Planning Privacy Notice.
