THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (NO. *) TRAFFIC ORDER 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council proposes to make the above Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 63 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be, in connection with the South Molton Development, to:

(a) introduce a prohibition of vehicles (signed as a Pedestrian Zone) in Davies Mews - an exemption would be provided for loading between 7.00 a.m. and midday;

(b) introduce a prohibition of motor vehicles (signed as a Pedestrian and Cycle Zone)
connecting the follow roads or lengths of roads:

(i) Davies Street, between its junctions with St. Anselm's Place and Weighhouse Street
/ South Molton Lane;

(ii) South Molton Lane; and

(iii) Weighhouse Street, at its junction with Davies Street.
- an exemption would be provided for access to premises and off-street parking only accessible from those roads and for loading; 

(c) reverse the one-way working in South Molton Lane from north-westbound to southeastbound;

(d) introduce one-way working eastbound in Davies Mews; and

(e) revise the parking provisions and waiting and loading restrictions as follows:
(i) in Brook Street:
(A) introduce a loading bay operating "at any time", with a maximum stay of 20 minutes and no return within 1 hour on the north side, outside Nos. 40 and 42 (18 metres), replacing a motorcycle parking place (8.5 metres), a pay-by-phone parking bay (6 metres) and a length of single yellow line waiting restrictions (3.5 metres);

(B) relocate the pay-by-phone parking places on the north side, outside Nos. 42 to 46 and opposite Claridge's, westward and combining them into one 40-metre parking place (8 bays);

(C) introduce lengths of double yellow line "at any time" waiting and loading restrictions on the north side:

• across its junction with South Molton Lane (18.2 metres); and

• outside Nos. 44 and 46 (15.3 metres);

(D) extend the "at any time" loading restrictions on the north side, opposite Claridge's, eastward by 2 metres; and

(E) shorten the "at any time" loading restrictions on the north side, outside No. 66, by 4.5 metres;

(ii) in Davies Mews:
(A) remove the residents' parking places on the south side; and

(B) remove the motorcycle parking place on the north side;

(iii) in Davies Street:
(A) introduce loading bays operating "at any time", with a maximum stay of 20 minutes and no return within 1 hour on the east side:

• opposite Nos. 51 and 53 (8 metres); and

• outside No. 58 (10.6 metres);

(B) introduce a taxi rank (no stopping "at any time" except taxis) on the west side, outside Nos. 57 and 59; 

(C) relocate the residents' parking place on the west side, outside Nos. 53 to 59 southward by 2 metres and shorten it by 5.4 metres at its northern end;

(D) relocate the motorcycle parking place on the west side, outside Nos. 51 and 53, southward by 2 metres and extend it southward by 7.4 metres;

(E) introduce double yellow line "at any time" waiting restrictions on the west side, outside No. 61 (15 metres);

(F) extend the double yellow line "at any time" waiting restrictions on the east side, across its junction with Davies Mews; 

(G) introduce "at any time" loading restrictions on the east side, at its junction with Davies Mews (13 metres in total); 

(H) remove the loading restrictions (operating between 8.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays and 8.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. on Saturdays) on the east side, opposite Nos. 51 and 53; and

(I) remove the "at any time" loading restrictions on the east side, adjacent to No. 66 Brook Street; and

(iv) in South Molton Lane, introduce "at any time" waiting restrictions throughout.

3. The proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders at https://westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/notices and, in person by appointment only, at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP, between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays (except bank / public holidays). 5. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
