Notice is given that the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) made on 2nd September 2026 a
Direction to continue in force the above experimental scheme, which permits class A, B, C and
D taxis to use bus lanes on certain lengths of road in Belfast City Centre for a period of 4
months from 8th September 2026. Copies of the Direction may be obtained from 3rd Floor-

ABANDONMENT – WANDSWORTH ROAD,
BELFAST
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI), being of the opinion that the road is not necessary for
road traffic, gives notice of its intention to make an Order under Article 68 of the Roads
(Northern Ireland) Order 1993, the effect of which would be to abandon two areas of road
contained within Wandsworth Road Car Park, Belfast comprising of—
• 178.759 square metres previously known as Wandsworth Road extending in a
south-easterly direction covering the width of the car park area; and
• 212.478 square metres previously known as Hawthornden Road extending in a
south-westerly direction covering the width of the car park area.
The areas of road to be abandoned are delineated on a map which, together with a copy of the
draft Order, may be inspected free of charge during office hours within the period 9 September
2026 to 19 October 2026 at DfI TRAM Eastern Division, Lands Section, Hydebank House,
4a Hospital Road, Ballydollaghan, Belfast, BT8 8JL or viewed online at
infrastructure-ni.gov.uk/consultations.
Inspection of the draft Order and map is by appointment only which can be arranged either by
email using the email address below, or by telephone on 0300 200 7899 during office hours
(Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.).
Any person may, within the period above, object to the proposal by writing to the Department
at the address above or by emailing

stating the

WALKWAY, BELFAST
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI), being of the opinion that the road is not necessary for
road traffic, gives notice of its intention to make an Order under Article 68 of the Roads
(Northern Ireland) Order 1993, the effect of which would be to abandon an area comprising of
2391.673 square metres of pathways within Ballymacarrett Walkway between Severn Street
and Tamar Street, Belfast.
The area of road to be abandoned is delineated on a map which, together with a copy of the
draft Order, may be inspected free of charge during office hours within the period 16 September
2026 to 26 October 2026 at DfI TRAM Eastern Division, Lands Section, Hydebank House,
4a Hospital Road, Ballydollaghan, Belfast, BT8 8JL or viewed online at
infrastructure-ni.gov.uk/consultations
