PUBLIC FOOTPATH DIVERSION ORDER 2026

On 2nd September 2026 The Borough Council of Pendle confirmed without modification the above order made under section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. The effect of the Order is that it will divert the public footpath running from a point to the west of an existing AGP on the Prairie Playing Fields on the borough boundary at Grid Reference SD8431 3523 (Point A) the footpath runs in a NNW direction for 390m to a point at the rear of 536 Colne Road where it meets public footpath FP1316013 and FP1316014 at Grid Reference SD8448 3558 (Point B) to a point on the Prairie Playing Fields on the borough boundary at Grid Reference SD8431 3523 (Point A) the footpath runs in a generally northerly direction for 300m to a point on public footpath FP1316013 to the east of a railway footbridge at Grid Reference SD8342 3551 (Point C). Width 6.0m wide. A copy of the order and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Number 1 Market Street, Nelson, during usual business hours. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at the price of £1. The order comes into force as from 2nd September 2026 but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under Section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within six weeks from 11th September 2026, make an application to the High Court.
