TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under Section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping up of Highways (Yorkshire & Humber) (No.16) Order 2026” authorising the stopping up of an irregular shaped southern part width of Long Close Lane and a length of unnamed footpath as lies off Hope Street at York, in the City of York. This is to enable development as permitted by City of York Council under reference 25/02537/FULM.
Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State, Transport Infrastructure Planning Casework Unit, PO Box 1393, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ or nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting NATTRAN/Y&H/S247/6348). They may also be inspected during normal opening hours at Walmgate Bar Post Office, 85 Walmgate, York YO1 9UA and City of York Council, West Offices Station Rise, York YO1 6GA.
Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the decision to make the Order may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from 09 September 2026.
