FURTHER INFORMATION RELATING TO AN APPLICATION FOR PLANNING PERMISSION ACCOMPANIED BY AN ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT
TH/26/351 – Proposed development at Land at Manston Road, Margate, Kent, CT9 4JW.
Further to my previous notice published on 9 April 2026 under the requirements of the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (England) Order 2015, which advised that Hydrogen TE (Manston) Ltd is applying to Kent County Council for planning permission for the development of a waste-to-hydrogen facility with associated ancillary infrastructure, a non-residential innovation and education facility including offices, a new junction onto Manston Road, access and internal roads, boundary treatments, landscaping and other associated works, and that the application is accompanied by an Environmental Statement. I give notice that FURTHER INFORMATION is now available in relation to that Environmental Statement.
The further information comprises an Addendum to the Environmental Statement, an associated updated Non-Technical Summary, and technical documents covering air quality, noise, ecological considerations, landscape, lighting, cumulative impacts and highways matters.
Details of the application, the Environmental Statement, the FURTHER INFORMATION, and the plans and other documents submitted with the application can be viewed on Kent County Council’s website at www.kentplanningapplications.co.uk, using reference KCC/TH/0050/2026. Please note the FURTHER INFORMATION received consists of the documents created on 17 August 2026 and 21 August 2026.
Copies of the ES and ES Addendum are available from the applicant via email (make requests to Henry Mackenzie, Lichfields at manchester@lichfields.uk). Reasonable copying and printing charges will be applied to requests for paper copies. An electronic copy (PDF version provided by electronic file transfer) is available free of charge. All documents submitted with the application are available to view online via the County Council’s website as referenced above.
We accept comments online via the direct link on the County Council’s website or by email to planning.applications@kent.gov.uk. You may also write to Planning Applications Group, Kent County Council, County Hall, Maidstone, Kent ME14 1XQ, although we strongly encourage comments to be submitted online or by email at this time due to ongoing hybrid working arrangements.
Comments are accepted within 31 days from the date of this notice (by 4 October 2026). Please quote the application reference number (KCC/TH/0050/2026) and note that comments may be drawn to the attention of Council Members, the applicant and other interested persons and may include publishing on the Borough Council website.
