Thanet District Council as local planning authority has received the following
applications which:- In the opinion of the district planning authority affects
the character or appearance of a Conservation Area or the setting of a Listed
Building, in accordance with section 67 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and
Conservation Areas) Act 1990.
And/or
Relates to a Listed Building [Town and Country Planning (Listed Buildings and
Buildings in Conservation Areas) Regulations 1987]. Affects setting of a listed building

Proposal: Application for listed building consent for the internal and external alterations associated with the conversion and refurbishment of parts of the former St Augustine’s College buildings to provide 40 residential units, while retaining the existing wedding venue and associated hospitality uses, including removal of the single-storey western extension and external metal fire escape staircases, removal and installation of internal walls and partitions; formation, alterations and infilling of internal and external openings; alterations to staircases and circulation areas; insertion of mezzanine floors; installation of kitchens, bathrooms and associated services; alteration and replacement of windows and doors; installation of secondary glazing and acoustic treatments; roof, entrance and external access alterations; installation of air source heat pumps, ventilation, extraction and associated plant; and repair and refurbishment of the brickwork, render, and slate roofs

a refusal of planning permission, which is to be dealt with on the basis of
representations in writing, any representations made about this application
will be sent to the Secretary of State, and there will be no further opportunity
to comment at appeal stage.
