PUBLIC NOTICE

The Planning Act (Northern Ireland) 2011, and The Planning (Development Management) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 (Regulation 5 (2) (b)) and The Planning (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2025.

PRE-APPLICATION COMMUNITY CONSULTATION

Proposal: Decommissioning of the existing operational Callagheen Windfarm and repowering of the Site to provide up to 9 new turbines with a maximum tip height of up to 180m. Key elements of the proposed Development include: Decommissioning the 13 existing turbines; Installation of up to 9 new wind turbines; construction of upgraded or new onsite access tracks; site entrance upgrade works; temporary construction compound; upgrade to onsite substation; and all ancillary works.

How information may be obtained concerning the proposed development?

Information on the proposed development can be obtained as follows:

• We will be holding the following community consultation events for interested parties to attend and learn about the proposal:

• Tuesday 8th September 2026 at Gillaroo Cultural Centre, 3A Gillaroo Court, Garrison, Co. Fermanagh, BT93 4ER. The community consultation event will run from 3pm – 8pm.

• Wednesday 9th September 2026 at Belleek Hub, Marina Road, Belleek, Co. Fermanagh, BT93 3FZ. The community consultation event will run from 3pm – 8pm.

• Thursday 10th September 2026 at The Abbey Arts Centre, Tir Connell Street, Ballyshannon, Co.Donegal, F94 DX51 (Eircode). The community consultation event will run from 3pm – 8pm.

• Details of proposed development will be displayed on the following project website: https://www.scottishpowerrenewables.com/callagheen-windfarm-repowering

The project website will be available to view from 8th September 2026 until 6th October and will provide details on how members of the public can provide comments/feedback on the proposed development.

This stage of the pre-application consultation period will begin on 8th September 2026 and formally end on 6th October 2026. Members of the public must provide their feedback before 6th October 2026.

Please note that this notice does not relate to a planning application. Comments should not be made to Fermanagh & Omagh District Council or DfI Planning at this time. Any comments made to the prospective applicant are not representations to the planning authority. If a planning application is subsequently submitted, neighbour notification and Council/ DfI Planning publicity will be undertaken and you will have the opportunity to make formal representations regarding the proposal at that time.
