APPLICATION FOR MLA/2026/00307 NAUTILUS NEARSHORE GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATIONS

Notice is hereby given that Mr David Sutherland of National Grid Ventures LTD-Warwick, Ventures House, National Grid House, Warwick Technology Park, Gallows Hill, Warwick, CV34 6DA has applied to the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) under the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009, Part 4, for a marine licence to undertake up to 17 boreholes to a depth of 35 metres, 14 of which will be below Mean High Water Springs, for geotechnical investigations for potential future Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) route alignment within the Medway Estuary, between the Isle of Grain and Sheerness.

Representations in respect of the application should ordinarily be made by:

-Visiting the MMO Public Register (www.gov.uk/check-marine-licence-register) and accessing the Public Representation section of case reference MLA/2026/00307.

However, we will also accept representations via the following formats:

- By email to marine.consents@marinemanagement.org.uk; or alternatively

- By letter addressed to Marine Management Organisation, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 7AR

In all cases, correspondence must:

- Be received within 28 days of the date of the first notice (27/08/2026);

- Quote the case reference; and

- Include an address to which correspondence relating to the representation or objection may be sent.

The Marine Management Organisation will pass to the applicant a copy of any objection or representation we receive.
