OPERATE A WIND FARM ON LAND

Scottish Ministers have appointed Tammy Swift-Adams BA (Hons) DipTP MRTPI to consider and submit a report to them on an application under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 to construct and operate the Oliver Forest Wind Farm on land north of Menzion Farm, Tweedsmuir. The application (which is available to view on the DPEA website) is subject to environmental impact assessment and is supported by the following environmental information:
• Environmental Impact Assessment Report with supporting figures and appendices – identified as ‘Environmental Report’ within the Application Documents on the case file
• Further Environmental Information with supporting documentation – identified as Further Environmental Information on the case file
The Reporter will hold public hearing sessions to obtain more information on certain matters before she reports to Scottish Ministers on the case. The matters to be considered during the sessions are:
• Session 1: landscape and visual impacts
• Session 2: draft planning conditions
No other matters relevant to this case will be considered at the hearing sessions.
The hearing sessions will commence at 10:00am on Wednesday 16 September 2026, within Tweedsmuir Village Hall, and will run for 2 days.
Members of the public can follow the proceedings through the broadcast to the internet as part of DPEA’s webcasting service. The webcast recordings will be available to view at:
Attendees and/or participants may wish to note that this meeting will be broadcast live to the internet as part of DPEA’s webcasting service.
