Description of Development - Outline planning application with all matters reserved except for access for the demolition of all buildings and structures, with the exception of the outbuilding adjacent to Cressing Park Farmhouse, and erection of up to 350 dwellings (including affordable housing), with public open space (including childrens play areas), landscaping and sustainable drainage system (SuDS) and land for an early years/nursery facility and associated infrastructure and that the application is accompanied by an Environmental Statement.
I give notice that Gladman Developments Ltd submitted a planning application on 11th February 2025 and submitted an appeal to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, on 19th March 2026, against this Council’s non-determination of the planning application for the development at the site referred to above.
Reasons for publicity: Application for Planning Permission; Application is accompanied by an Environmental Statement; Application for Major Development; Application Affecting a Public Right of Way; Application does not accord with the Development Plan; Application Affecting the Setting of a Listed Building. The submission of additional environmental information (“other information”) in the form of an Environmental Statement Addendum, in relation to an Environmental Statement which has already been provided, and amendments and additional information in respect of the planning appeal. The change to description of Development to refer to retention of an outbuilding adjacent to Cressing Park Farmhouse.
Members of the public may inspect copies of the appeal; the plans; the Environmental Statement, the additional environmental information (“other information”) including the Environmental Statement Addendum, and other documents submitted as part of the application and appeal at Braintree District Council Offices, Causeway House, Bocking End, Braintree, CM7 9HB during normal office hours until 21st September 2026, and online at the website www.braintree.gov.uk/pa.
Members of the public may obtain copies of the Environmental Statement, Environmental Statement Addendum and Non-Technical Summaries from the Council’s Offices whilst stocks last. Hard Copies can also be requested from SLR Consulting, 3rd Floor Summit House, 12 Red Lion Square, London, WC1 4HQ (Tel: 0330 088 6631) for a charge of £450 plus P&P. Electronic copies of the Environmental Statement, Environmental Statement Addendum and Non-Technical Summaries are available free of charge from SLR Consulting.
The Council have forwarded all the representations made to us on the application to the Planning Inspectorate and the Appellant. These will be considered by the Inspector when determining the appeal.
