What is planned?

SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL

(WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS AND PARKING PLACES CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2026

Notice is HEREBY GIVEN that on the 12 August 2026 Swindon Borough Council made the above Order under powers contained in The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), The Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA 2004) and in accordance with the relevant provisions of The Local Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996.

The effect of the Order is to revoke the Swindon Borough Council (Waiting and Loading and Parking Places Consolidation) Order 2021 (“the 2021 Order”) and all subsequent variation orders made to the 2021 Order and immediately re-enact those provisions contained in those orders under the above Order without change.

The above Order does not make any changes to the existing on-street restrictions or introduce new restrictions.

The Order will be operative as of 18 August 2026. A copy of the documents for the Order may be inspected online at www.swindon.gov.uk/trafficregulationorders under Stage 3 ‘implementation stage’.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks from 12 August 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
