What is planned?

TOWN & COUNTY PLANNING ACT 1990 - PUBLIC INQUIRY at COUNCIL CHAMBER, WAVERLEY BOROUGH COUNCIL, THE BURYS, GODALMING, GU7 1HR

Opening on 18th August 2026 at 10am

REASON FOR INQUIRY: Appeal by The Merchant Seamans War
Memorial Society and Thakeham Homes Limited

Relating to the application to Waverley Borough Council for Outline application with all matters reserved except for access for a development of up to 400 dwellings to provide private and affordable homes with a community commercial facility; associated infrastructure works including vehicle cycle and pedestrian access, allotments, areas of open space and play provision; sustainable drainage and landscaping at: Land South of Dunsfold Road, Alfold Crossways, Surrey, GU6 8JB.

The inquiry is expected to last 5 days (18-21 and 25 August) with 26 August 2026 as reserve if needed. The first 4 days will be held in person and the final 2 days will be virtual.

An Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State will hold an Inquiry opening on the date shown above to decide the appeal.
