LIVERPOOL CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC NOTICE PLANNING (LISTED BUILDINGS AND CONSERVATION AREAS) ACT 1990, SECTION 69 (‘the Act’)
LIVERPOOL CITY COUNCIL
GROVE PARK CONSERVATION AREA (amended)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that under section 69 of the Act, Liverpool City Council has determined that the area described in the Schedule below is an area of special architectural or historic significance and that it is desirable to preserve or enhance its character or appearance. Liverpool City Council has accordingly amended the GROVE PARK CONSERVATION AREA as described in the Schedule below and illustrated in the associated map.

The effects of this determination on the area are as follows:

1. The Council is under a duty to prepare proposals to ensure the preservation or enhancement of the area;

2. Planning permission must be obtained from the Council for the demolition of any building in the area;

3. Special publicity must be given to planning applications for development in the area;

4. In carrying out any functions under planning legislation, in particular in determining applications for planning permission and listed building consent, the Council and the Secretary of State are required to take into account the desirability of preserving or enhancing the character or appearance of the area;

5. Permitted development rights are restricted in a conservation area and therefore planning permission may be required for roof alterations and the installation, alteration, or replacement of microwave antenna or its support apparatus;

6. Advertisement consent is required from the Council for the display of an advertisement unless the advertisement is exempt from control and has deemed advertisement consent;

7. Six weeks’ notice must be given to the Council before any works are carried out to any tree in the area;

SCHEDULE

Minor changes have been made to apply a consistent approach in relation to buildings, property lines and public highways.
