Notice is hereby given that Midlothian Council, incorporated under the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994 and having its principal offi ce at Midlothian House, 40-46 Buccleuch Street, Dalkeith, EH22 1DN, in exercise of the powers conferred by the above mentioned Acts, on 30 July 2026, made the above mentioned Compulsory Purchase Order which affects the land described in the Schedule hereto, for the purpose of carrying out repairs to ensure the preservation of Mavisbank House, Lasswade.
The Order is about to be submitted to the Scottish Ministers for confi rmation and comes into operation only if confi rmed. If the Order is confi rmed, a conveyance registered in implement of the Order may vary or extinguish rights to enforce real burdens and servitudes affecting the land and disapply any development management scheme affecting the land.
A copy of the Order and the map referred to therein (“the Map”) have been deposited at Midlothian Council reception, Fairfi eld House, 8 Lothian Road, Dalkeith, EH22 3AA and may be seen there without payment of fee on Mondays to Thursdays between the hours of 09:00 - 17:00 and on Fridays between the hours of 09:00 - 15:30.
Any objections to the Order must be made in writing stating the title of the Order and the grounds of objection and addressed to the Scottish Ministers c/o Planning Directorate, The Scottish Government, Area 2-F (South), Victoria Quay, Edinburgh EH6 6QQ or by email to Planning.Decisions@gov.scot by 6 September 2026.
This advertisement, including the Schedule hereto, is subscribed for and on behalf of Midlothian Council by Alan Turpie, Proper Officer, at Dalkeith on 30 July 2026 in presence of Sophie Charbonnier of 58 Morrison Street, Edinburgh EH3 8BP.
