The Secretary of State hereby gives notice of the proposal to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping up of an eastern part width of Northwood Crescent consisting of highway verge, the whole of Upwood Drive, Tangmere Avenue, Raynham Close, Yatesbury Road, Pitreavie Avenue, Odiham Close, an eastern and southern part width of Northwood Crescent consisting of highway verge, a southern and western part width of Northwood Crescent consisting of highway verge and a western part width of Northwood Crescent consisting of highway verge at Carterton, in the District of West Oxfordshire.
If the order is made, the stopping up will be authorised only in order to enable development as permitted by West Oxfordshire District Council, under reference 25/02878/FUL.
Copies of the draft order and relevant plan will be available for inspection during normal opening hours at Carterton Town Council, Town Hall, 19 Alvescot Road, Carterton, Oxfordshire, OX18 3JL in the 28 days commencing on 5 August 2026, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State (quoting SUO7177954) at the address stated below.
Any person may object to the making of the proposed order by stating their reasons in writing to the Secretary of State at nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk or Transport Infrastructure Planning Casework Unit, PO Box 1393, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ, quoting the above reference. Objections should be received by midnight on 2 September 2026. You are advised that your personal data and correspondence will be passed to the applicant/agent to enable your objection to be considered. If you do not wish your personal data to be forwarded, please state your reasons when submitting your objection.
