What is planned?

Horsham District Council Local Plan:

Regulations 2012 (as amended).

The Horsham District Local Plan 2023-40 was submitted to the
Secretary of State for examination on 26 July 2024. Inspector
Jonathan Bore MRTPI re-commenced the independent
examination by conducting initial hearings in April 2026.
Following hearings in April, the Inspector concluded that the
Council should prepare modifications to the policies and where
required the policies maps. These will now be published for
a period of representations in accordance with the Town and
Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012
(as amended) Regulation 20.
Representation Period
Representations are invited on the Horsham District Local Plan
proposed Main Modifications for a period of six weeks, from
Monday 13 July 2026 to Monday 24 August 2026.
Where to view the documents (Statement of Fact)
Copies of the Horsham District Council Local Plan proposed
Main Modifications and accompanying documents, including
the representation form, will be:
• Available to view on the Council’s website at: www.
horsham.gov.uk/planning/local-plan/main-modifications
• Available for inspection at: Horsham District Council,
Albery House, Springfield Road, Horsham, RH12 2GB
during normal office hours (excluding Bank Holidays)
• Available for inspection, during normal opening hours
(excluding Bank Holidays) at local libraries in Horsham
District
Representations
Representations should be made using the representation

portal: www.horsham.gov.uk/planning/local-plan/main-
modifications. The use of the standard representation form

is strongly recommended as this will ensure that comments
are in a form most helpful to the Planning Inspector.
The representation form can be downloaded via the Council’s
website above. Representation forms are available from the
Council offices reception and from Local Libraries.
Completed forms can be submitted online returned via email
to: strategic.planning@horsham.gov.uk, or posted to:
Strategic Planning, Local Plan Main Modifications, Albery
House, Springfield Road, Horsham, RH12 2GB.
Where requested all named representatives will be notified
of future stages of local plan preparation.
Please note that copies of all comments received will be
available for the public to view in full and cannot be treated
as confidential.
All comments received will be submitted to the Planning
Inspector as part of the ongoing public examination.
Data will be processed and held in accordance with the
UK General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection
Act 2018.
The relevant regulations are the Town and Country Planning
(Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 (as amended).
