Notice of application for a full licence
to abstract (take) water

W.S. Furnival (Brookland) Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from The White
Kemp Sewer at National Grid Reference TQ 99536 23857 to fill two reservoirs between 01 November to 31 March.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
• 72 cubic metres an hour • 1,000 cubic metres a day • 50,000
cubic metres a year.

In the summer water will be abstracted from reaches on the White
Kemp Sewer and surrounding drains in the Romney Marshes IDB for
the purpose of spray irrigation fully supported by the discharge from
the reservoir.
