DRIVE, APPROX. 15.7 METRES NORTH OF LYNWOOD AVENUE TRAFFIC
REGULATION NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Blackpool Borough Council (“the Council”), in exercise of its powers under sections 90A and 90C of the Highways Act 1980, proposes to construct a road hump on Westcliffe Drive, approx. 15.7 metres North of Lynwood Avenue, Blackpool.

The effect of the proposed road hump will be to:
• avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising; and
• facilitate the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

The proposed road hump is to be constructed on Westcliffe Drive, 15.7 metres north of the centre of Lynwood Avenue, Blackpool, as described below:
• a 75 mm high, kerb to kerb flat top road hump with a plateau length of 14.62 metres and approach ramps at a gradient of 1:15 constructed on Westcliffe Drive, the centre of the road hump at a point 15.7 metres North of the centre of Lynwood Avenue, Blackpool.

as specified in the following Schedules.

• Longitudinal profile: Flat-topped
• Transverse profile: Kerb-to-kerb
• Height: 75mm
• Plateau length: 14.62 metres
• Length (in plan) of on/off ramps: 1.125 metre
• Overall length (plateau plus ramps): 16.87 metres
• On/off ramp gradient: 1:15

Blackpool on Westcliffe Drive.

A copy of the notice, plan showing the location of the road hump and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to construct the road hump may be inspected at Customer First, Municipal Buildings, Corporation Street, Blackpool, FY1 1NF and the Council’s offices at Number 1 Bickerstaffe Square, Talbot Road, Blackpool, FY1 3AH during their normal opening hours.

Any objections and representations relating to the proposed Notice, and/or proposed road hump must be made in writing stating the grounds for any objection and should be sent to either;
• Head of Highway and Traffic Management Services, Blackpool Council, PO Box 4, Blackpool, FY1 1NA; or
• Email to traffic.management@blackpool.gov.uk quoting the above title before 9:00 am on 21st August 2026.

Please note that the Council may consider all representations received in public and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection
